Abstract
This IDC study provides detailed analysis, conclusions, and forecasts about the dynamics of the enterprise storage systems market in the Czech Republic. The information in this study is intended to provide an understanding of the changes and opportunities facing the storage industry in this emerging market. Our 2010 data and analyses are based on information gathered from interviews with leading IT companies (vendors, distributors, assemblers, systems integrators, and value-added resellers) in the enterprise storage systems market. Data is broken down by location, installation, protocol, operating systems, and price band. "The global crisis brought tight budgets and further pressure on total cost of ownership, and the recession's impact on end-user behavior will continue in the long term. Tight budgets, combined with uncertainty about future developments, open up opportunities for innovation: While virtualization, consolidation, de-duplication, tiering, and thin provisioning have shown progress and have been adopted to a certain extent, room exists to innovate delivery models – pay-as-you-go, chargeback, and mobile containers for example. Great opportunities also exist from the ever-increasing volumes of unstructured data stored in media content depots." – Research Analyst Petr Švagrovský, Systems and Infrastructure Solutions, IDC CEMA.
